Greensleeves Morris Men
Greensleeves
Morris Men may be based in south-west London but they and their guests have been
making an annual pilgrimage to the Chilterns every July since 1961. These
weekends start and finish in Chipperfield with a tour round local towns on the
Saturday. This year's stops were Chesham, Wendover, Tring and Dunstable Downs
where passers-by were introduced to a variety of dances. Our photographs show
stick and hankerchief dances from the Cotswold tradition and a
rendering of the North Skelton sword dance from Yorkshire. Photos: Mike Knell of Greensleeves Click on photo for larger image |
